35001 US Infantryman OIF kit includes a 1/35 scale resin Modern US infantry figure. Optional parts give a chance to represent it as mountain, airborne or special forces serving in Afghanistan or Iraq.

the box

The figure comes nicely packaged in a clear plastic clamshell container with a label inside showing figureís coloured illustration. The backside of the label has black/white illustrations by Echo Churnik from 3 different angles. This label can serve as a painting guide and instruction sheet to assembly personal gear easier.

All parts are secured in a small plastic bag.
kit content

The figure is sculpted by Jeff Meckley ( aka Holycow in Armorama) and made up of 18 light cream resin parts. The casting is very clean, well detailed and crisp with no serious cleaning required. Torso with IBA (Interceptor Body Armor) and legs with protective tactical knee pads are molded together. Uniform details like fabric folds, seams and pockets, knee pad details and buckles of IBA are well defined.

The head is cast in helmet strap details and facial details are fine. Two different helmet options are presented : MICH (Modular Integrated Communications Helmet) with mount for AN/PVS-7B night vision goggles or PASGT (Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops) helmet with protective googles.

Arms and hands are molded as seperate parts to make fitting and posing easier. Cloth folds on arms are well defined. The fitting of hands to sleeves and right hand to the M4A1 is good.

Small parts are;

  • 2 canteens
  • 1 butt pack
  • 4 MOLLE II (Modular Lightweight Load Equipment) double magazine ammo pouchs
  • 1 ALICE (All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment) small arms ammunition case
  • 1 ALICE field first aid dressing/unmounted magnetic compass case

Figure carries a M4A1 assault rifle with RIS(Rail Interface System) and ML2 COMP Aimpoint Red Dot Scope on a high L-Mount. It is molded as one piece in very crisp details.
conclusion

This kit is a very good addition to Modern Era US Infantry figures.

High molding quality, ease of clean and assembly, nice details and optional parts makes this kit

Highly Recommended.

Thanks to Jeff Meckley for providing the kit.
